NO. 004 BORO JACKET
REFLOS
The Reflos Work Jacket.
Details
It's hard to explain just how insane this item really is... but here we go...
This jacket was created through the idea of reconstructing clothing into an object with presence, built through layers of time, damage, and repair.
The foundation comes from vintage workwear, Japanese boro, and sashiko repair, while also bringing in a darker, quieter presence, a sense of decayed beauty, and a sculptural structure that surrounds the body.
Rather than aiming for a clean or perfect finish, the piece finds beauty in worn fabric, distortion, abrasion, faded tones, and visible traces of repair. The damage is not hidden. It remains as part of the garment, rebuilt into a new form with quiet strength and deep texture.
The production process includes dyeing, patchwork, sashiko stitching, distressing, washing, softening, and additional repair work. Each piece is reworked many times until the texture and overall balance feel right.
Depending on the amount of handwork and layering, each jacket takes over 100 hours to complete.
Because of this process, every piece is one of a kind. The same concept can be recreated, but the exact same piece can never be reproduced.
