The gold leaf thread repair celebrates the art of Kintsugi or 'beautiful imperfection'. The embroidered gold circle on the wearer's thigh is a mid-20th-century vintage workwear detail. It is a nod to Japans circle of the sun, symbolised in red on the Japanese flag. For MCU, it represents a 100% made-in-Japan artisanal jean.
